How to Keep a Custom Home Clean & Perfect

Cleaning is something that you have to do. You just put your soul into the construction of your new custom home. It’s a place where you want to make memories and spend the rest of your life. As such, it’s important to think about how to take care of this important piece of our lives.

Regular preventative maintenance and cleaning will keep your home looking and feeling like new. Our best tip, create a “to-do list” that has how often and when each item should take place. Following this list month after month is the perfect way to ensure that you will have a pristine home for years to come.

Weekly Cleaning & Maintenance

As the owner of a new custom home, there is a high chance that you know how to clean. However, a few tips on keeping a custom home clean never hurt a clean home. Our first bit of advice is to vacuum or sweep at least the number of times a week equal to people in your home. For example, a person living alone can often get by with a vacuum each week. However, a family of five might need to sweep at the end of each weekday.

Monthly Cleaning & Maintenance

Each month, make sure you are changing your air filters and cleaning any range hood that your kitchen may have. This can do a lot to keep dust, grease, and allergens away from your home. In addition, if your kitchen has a disposal, think about using a baking soda mixture to clean it at least once a month. Finally, don’t forget to check all fire safety bits in the home. You don’t want to go month only to need it when it doesn’t work anymore.
